A little about me, my name is Esther Lehman and I live in Israel, in Maale Adumim which is a city just outside Jerusalem, Israel. I am a personal trainer and a holistic nutritionist, and I studied exercise and nutrition at the Wingate Institute for physical education and sports in Israel, and I am a black belt 4th, Dan, in Krav Maga. I teach a wide range of exercise and fitness classes such as Pilates, body sculpting which includes muscle building, aerobics, aqua, Krav Maga. For over 25 years I have helped thousands of people accomplish positive changes in their lives, as well as improving their health and well-being.
To be overweight or obese is like being stuck in a nightmare where you have no control over your body, it is very widespread and it may be a little easier to know that you are not alone. This is the plague of this century for both men and women, it does not help to be assured by others who are not overweight, that size doesn’t matter, because we all know that the true reality is that size does matter. Nobody likes being fat, and nobody enjoys the hard work that involves having to lose weight, we all know exercise and nutrition is the secret to losing fat, but actually doing squats and burpees all day seems like an impossible mission.
We have many excuses for being staying overweight, “we’ll start our diet tomorrow,” “we’ll join the gym next week,” yes it’s true, our daily lives are brutal. We are being bombarded constantly with many stresses, ranging from financial to emotional, we all need to work and earn a living, can we even afford to join a gym or hire a personal trainer? I believe that easing our financial stresses eases our emotional well-being, start taking strides to live a much of a stress-free life as possible. Focus on structuring for yourself a healthier lifestyle like not taking on a mortgage that you know will be difficult to pay off each month, do whatever you can to live within your means.
Modern-day eating habits match our crazy lifestyles, we eat the food available to us and fast!!!
Don’t stay in a job or marriage that is toxic and making you sick, when we look we can at our lives from a distance, we can always find solutions. Focus on what is important to you without getting distracted and dragged in by the powerful peer pressure of this generation. People are buying larger homes, more expensive cars, which is perfect if you can afford it, would you rather not save up for these luxuries instead of taking out loans. The media are constantly pounding our psyche that mediocrity is not acceptable, of course, it is, being famous is not cracked up like it is said to be. The combination of living in debt with the stresses that accompany it, in this world, would keep a lot of us overweight, and find ourselves in a catch 22 situation.
What do we do about it?
We are exposed to an abundance of food, but they all come wrapped in a package for our convenience. We have all become undisciplined in controlling our daily schedule, we are constantly chasing our tails and can barely keep our heads above water. We must schedule a time to shop for healthy foods and then to actually cook 3 meals a day, that is the secret of maintaining a balanced lifestyle and then eventually a balanced body weight. I have comprised step-by-step methods to help you start to take steps to change your current lifestyle and jump-start your self-motivation and achieve your craved health and weight loss.
The solution sounds so simple, we all know what we should do, however, the implementation of this concept as we know is far from simple and I acknowledge it. I have been in that situation and as it will be for you, it will be hard work every day to maintain what you have achieved. The only heroes in our lives are ourselves, eventually, we understand that no one can or will come and save us, only we can do it for ourselves. Once we understand the importance of our daily nutritional needs and how to choose the right foods, we are well on our way to healthy body weight. Being healthy is a daily decision, every day we have the opportunity to choose what we eat, and gaining inner strength and motivation is the key to our success to a healthier and leaner body.
